Section 699
Nepalese citizens must follow Nepalese laws when marrying abroad:

(1) A Nepali citizen should fulfill the competence, qualifications and conditions prescribed by Nepal law when marrying in a foreign country.
(2) The formalities to be completed by a Nepalese citizen when marrying abroad shall be in accordance with the law of the country where the marriage took place. When marrying in a Nepalese embassy or consulate abroad, the formalities in accordance with Nepalese law shall also be completed.
(3) A marriage that is contrary to sub-sections (1) and (2) shall not be recognized in Nepal.
